iGuy at Mcbride?

Dear Parents,

Saleema Noon Sexual Health Educators now has an iGuy program for boys in grades 4-7. I’d like to book a 2-part workshop for the boys at McBride. This is not a PAC sponsored program. Similar to the iGirl workshops being presented in September, the cost of the workshop will be borne by parents. Cost would be approximately $50 per child but depending on how many participants we have, the actual cost may be higher or lower.

At this time, I just want to gauge interest. I’ve attached the information sheet so you can read over the program outline. If this is of interest to you, please email Kiki at kirste.yee@gmail.com.

A Note from our Principal…

I’d like to thank everyone for the way they pitched in to make an orderly and safe dismissal possible this morning. Parents, students and staff all acted with great compassion, understanding and professionalism in a rapidly developing situation. It was great to see. Have a great weekend and we will see you Monday morning at the regular time.
Mr. Adams

Update on Today…

official communique from the VSB

McBride Elementary will reopen on Monday (Sep. 18) after it was closed today (Sep. 15) because a sprinkler failed and flooded the east wing of the school.
VSB maintenance crews have mopped up the water. They have started work with a restoration company to dry out the building and repair the damage, which was extensive in some areas. The work will continue throughout the weekend and the district anticipates that everything apart from the library will be safe for students and staff to use on Monday. Work to complete the repairs will continue through next week and beyond.
The sprinkler went off before school started so no students were in the building at the time. All students who turned up at the school later were reunited with their parents and guardians by midday. VSB thanks the school community for their calm response to today’s unexpected closure. McBride staff look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday.
